Welcome to ConvertOldTapes.co.uk. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order. These terms outline the relationship between you (the customer) and ConvertOldTapes.co.uk (the company).
1. **Services Provided** ConvertOldTapes.co.uk offers digitization services for the following media formats: VHS, VHS-C, Video 8, Hi 8, Mini DV, Standard and Super 8 Cine Film (50ft reels), CD, DVD, Audio Cassette, Vinyl LPs, Photos (up to 20), Slides (up to 20).
These media can be converted to: - Digital Download - Memory Stick - Cloud Storage (£11.50 per year)
2. **Order Process** 2.1 **Submission of Media:** Customers are responsible for securely packaging and shipping their media to ConvertOldTapes.co.uk. We recommend using tracked and insured shipping. ConvertOldTapes.co.uk is not liable for any loss or damage during transit to or from our facility.
2.2 **Inspection:** Upon receipt, all media will be counted and checked into our system.
2.3 **Conversion Process:** The media will be converted to the selected digital format. The quality of the final digital output is directly dependent on the condition and quality of the original media. ConvertOldTapes.co.uk cannot enhance or improve the original quality of the media. Some media may be unplayable, in which case, ConvertOldTapes.co.uk will notify the customer and refund the cost of conversion only.
2.4 **Completion and Return:** Once the conversion is complete, ConvertOldTapes.co.uk will not return the original media unless the customer specifically requests its return. If the customer wishes to have the original media returned, they must notify us at the time of order placement and cover the associated shipping costs. If no instruction is provided, ConvertOldTapes.co.uk will dispose of the original media responsibly, recycling where possible
### 3. **Pricing and Payment** 3.1 **Standard Pricing:** The standard price is £15 per item, except for larger cine reels, which will incur additional charges.
3.2 **Payment Terms:** Payment is required before the return of converted media. Payment can be made via credit/debit card, PayPal, or other methods as specified on our website.
3.3 **Non-Payment:** If payment is not received within 30 days of the invoice date, ConvertOldTapes.co.uk reserves the right to dispose of the original media and withhold the digital copies.
### 4. **Cloud Storage** 4.1 **Annual Fee:** Customers can choose to have their digital files stored in the cloud for £11.99 per year. This fee is charged annually and must be paid to maintain access to the stored files.
4.2 **Termination:** If the annual fee is not paid, access to the cloud storage will be terminated, and all files will be deleted after a 30-day grace period.
### 5. **Liability** 5.1 **No Liability for Loss or Damage:** ConvertOldTapes.co.uk assumes no responsibility or liability for any media that is lost, damaged, or destroyed, whether in transit, during the conversion process, or otherwise. Customers are advised to make copies of their media before sending it to us, if possible.
5.2 **No Warranty on Quality:** The quality of the converted media is dependent on the quality of the original media. ConvertOldTapes.co.uk does not guarantee any enhancement or improvement in quality.
### 6. **Content Liability** 6.1 **Prohibited Content:** Customers agree not to submit any media containing illegal, pornographic, or copyrighted content without proper authorization. ConvertOldTapes.co.uk reserves the right to refuse service and report such content to the appropriate authorities.
### 7. **Shipping and Handling** 7.1 **Customer Responsibility:** Customers are responsible for all shipping costs to and from ConvertOldTapes.co.uk. We recommend using tracked and insured shipping methods.
7.2 **Lost or Damaged Shipments:** ConvertOldTapes.co.uk is not liable for any media lost or damaged during shipping. Customers should ensure their packages are adequately insured.
